“We just have to time it appropriately and make sure that we’re keeping the appointments on time,” said Kevin Malone, a spokesperson for Nevada DMV. Still, the department encourages customers to make an appointment. The DMV now caters to those who needed more flexibility during the week. In August 2022, the DMV launched its online system requiring customers to book appointments on the DMV website, however, demand grew from those who work Monday through Friday to have walk-in availability during the week. ![]() Directors also reported that transactions that clerks were performing in person were services that could be completed online. The Nevada DMV changed the walk-in day from Saturday to Wednesday after the office was overwhelmed with customers on weekends, but found it challenging to staff its facility. Go get the smog check, have your paper work organized, show up to your appointment time and it won't be a hassle.LAS VEGAS (KTNV) - A line snaking around the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles on Flamingo Road started at 6 p.m. ![]() Just go prepared with all your documents. My appointment was 8am at Henderson and on another day had a 10:30 at Flamingo, both times were pretty quick and painless.Īll the employees have been surprisingly super pleasant and nice. Once its your appointment time, it only took me15-20 minutes beginning to end to get everything completed and out the door. Just keep it simple and follow your appointment time. If you already have an appointment don't bother waiting in stand by either for the reasons I mentioned above. Even if you show up early they won't let you check in until 30 minutes before your appointment time. ![]() You can check the status of your number online so you can leave and come back later as your number gets closer.Īppointment Day: (Henderson & Flamingo Location experience only)ĭon't try to show up too early or late. If you receive a stand-by number for the day I'm pretty sure they won't turn you away even if its late as long as you're there when your number is called. Once 4/4:30pm hits and all the appointments for the day are done, they will start calling all the stand-by numbers back-to-back. I think they took about 100 people? They only call 1 number every 15-20 minutes so it can be a LONG wait. Show up in the morning, they will give you a number and call the numbers if there are no-shows throughout the day. No walks in for most locations afaik but Flamingo DMV takes early morning walk-ins but you will be on stand-by so expect to wait all day. Alot of same day and next day appointments will pop up throughout the day so you need to be ready to book it and go with your documents ready. Try to go online around that time to look for cancellations. Around 8am everyday they send confirmation emails for next day appointments. Keep going back to see if new appointments open up. Nothing is available to book for 2-3 months out. I thought I'd share my experience with tips for future go-ers. ![]() I scoured through this sub to find details on Vegas DMV process before I went and wasn't able to find much help.
